Read the corner. Understand the car. LapFoundry saves your progress on the device where you use it and works offline. Read this page before you reinstall, clear website data, or reset the app.
Progress and backup
- LapFoundry saves progress on this device. It does not sync progress to an account.
- On an iPhone or iPad, your normal device or iCloud backup may include the saved progress, depending on your backup settings.
- Before reinstalling, resetting, or clearing site data, open Settings and create a backup code.
- Backup codes keep completed progress, but do not include unfinished quizzes or the saved Track Day practice target. Those stay in this app or browser on this device.
- Never email or publicly post a backup code. It can contain your local progress and Completion Record information.
Return to a driving correction
After you finish and save a scored Track Day run, Home can offer one corner to practise again. This short correction run is unscored. Clearing its saved target does not remove your scores, lap records, or course progress. Test drives and correction runs do not create a new saved target.
Sound or vibration
- Check the app's Sound and Haptics (vibration) settings and your device volume.
- In a web browser, tap or click once inside the app after it opens. Browsers do not allow a site to play sound before you interact with it.
- If LapFoundry is silent on iPhone, check the Ring/Silent switch as well as media volume.
Copying and sharing
- Copy backup code puts the code on your device's clipboard only after you choose the button. LapFoundry does not read your clipboard automatically.
- Save or Share Record creates an image on your device and opens the device's share sheet when sharing is available. You choose whether to send it and where it goes.
- Other apps, services, and your operating system handle anything you choose to copy or share under their own privacy terms.
Offline use and updates
- The App Store version includes every lesson and driving drill. Install its updates through the App Store.
- The website and installed web app need an internet connection the first time they open and when they download an update.
- When the web app shows Update ready, choose Reload to update. The notice appears after you leave a driving drill, so it does not interrupt your run. The app saves your progress before reloading.
- To check the version actually running, open Settings and look under About LapFoundry. A version number in a link or browser address does not confirm that an update has loaded.
- If an older web app has no update notice, finish your session, connect to the internet and reload. Check the version in Settings afterward. If the app reports a saving problem, use Retry save or copy a backup code before reloading.
Contact
Include your device type, software version, LapFoundry version, the name of the screen or drill, what you expected, what happened, and the steps that make it happen again. Do not include a backup code. If you send an email, the developer receives the address, message, and attachments you provide so the support request can be answered.
